In this digital age anyone can be a film director. Have you ever wondered how come there are so many videos on social media and wished you could make one yourself? It has never been easier to capture and film moving image content. 

In this short course film maker Sara Stroud will show you how easy it is to make films using nothing but your mobile device. In the first session you will learn some tips and techniques for filming. Then you’ll have a week to put what you’ve learnt into practice, to start to create a movie of your lockdown life.

In the second session you will learn how to edit the footage and share your stories on social media. There will be plenty of time to practice and get tips on the best way to achieve the effect you want.

What to bring: Bring a mobile phone, tablet or i pad.  You must download Adobe Rush or iMovie in advance.

Sara Stroud is an Artist and lecturer based in Aberdeen. She has over 17 years of experience making films, animations and video installations. Her most recent project is promoting moving image education in schools and helping teachers to make creative films in the classroom.
